Give Your Kids a Chance to Make Money by Reading

While this is not a work home venture, it does give your kids the opportunity to be rewarded for something that's fun and good for them. It even gives you the chance to have some quiet time and hours to ponder away at your great work home plan. Here are some programs that are offering great summer reading activities.

Barnes and Nobles

1. Kids read any eight (8) books of their own choosing.

2. Kids use the Summer Reading Journal to tell us their favorite part of each book. A parent/guardian signs the journal when it's complete. You can also get a Spanish-language Reading Journal.

3. Children bring their completed Reading Journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 26th & September 7th, 2009.

4. We'll give them a coupon for a FREE book! They choose from a list of exceptional paperback titles.*

The AAPC is sponsoring a Reading Program specifically for kids with Autism. Upon completing the reading log, kids will earn a certificate of completion and a $25 AAPC gift certificate!

TDBankNorth is sponsoring a reading program as well. It is only in select states so be sure to find out if you apply.

The Scholastic Summer Challenge sponsors a reading program as well.

We're looking for kids who love to talk, think – and read! – books. The Summer Challenge is an amazing race to find the best page-turning team in the land, plus an arena for hot reads, a chance to set a world record, and a way for you to help Scholastic support kids in need! Pretty amazing, right?

You can also find out what your public library is doing for a reading summer program. You may be surprised to find out that they give out prizes and things for children completing books.

God Bless
